I need a gentle shampoo since I dye my hair but I need something that will keep it from getting greasy?

I have oily hair. I used to use herbal escenses degunkify which worked great but faded my my hair color super fast. Now I'm using garnier fructis color sheild but by mid-day my hair is already oily. Uhgggg. Anyone know anything goood? Oh and cheap? Im kinda poor hahaI need a gentle shampoo since I dye my hair but I need something that will keep it from getting greasy?
I have an oily scalp as well, it has been an ongoing problem for me to find shampoos that don't make my hair greasy.

What I have found, is to avoid shampoos that say they're 'moisturizing' or that they're for 'damaged hair' or even 'coloured hair'-- these tend to have more oils in them to protect your hair from drying out because of dyes, etc. Instead, look for shampoos designed to give you volume-- they tend to be less weighty.

I splurge on a good shampoo (Kenra) which keeps my hair from getting greasy. But the bottle lasts me longer, as I don't have to wash my hair as often!

I've used head and shoulders and matrix, barley works. Anyone good a better one?Anyone know a good shampoo and conditioner?

Hello, you should try using Unicure Blue or Natural Shampoo along with Unicure Hair and Skin Conditioner as both a leave in and wash out conditioner its grease less, perfume, fragrance, and color free. Works for EVERYTHING related to Hair Or Skin from Clearing Acne to Keeping hair healthy, shiny. Thick, dandruff free, and so much more... available at www.unicure.com it has been around since 1973 formulated in the '50's in Denmark. The website has tons of beauty tips and testimonials plus was #1 selling hair conditioner in US and Canada they have a full line of hair care products. Definitely the best! and a very reasonable price about $5 a bottle 12oz.
did you try the head and shoulders because of dandruff? if that didn't work for you try selson blue instead. if its an on going problem, you may want to speak to your doctor for something stronger. you could also ask your hair stylist if it looks like its just dry skin or something worse. they should be able to recommend something to you to help.

dandruff could also be caused by dry scalp instead of whatever the disease is called that is the cause of it. try something moisturizing like Dove and maybe try a deep conditioner too. maybe get a few sample sizes so you don't have to buy lots of big bottles of stuff to find out that it doesn't work for you.

if you have a dry itchy scalp then just some heavy moisture should clear up your problems.

    good luck
    PANTENE.

Anyone know a good shampoo for straight hair?

I have naturally straight hair and I need a good shampoo. I've been using that Pantene 3 minute miracle which has made my hair really nice and shiny but I can only use it once week, so what is a good shampoo and conditioner which will always keep my hair shiny?Anyone know a good shampoo for straight hair?
I have straight hair too. Well, straightish. Just the slightest bit of a wave, almost undetectable. I think it's my best asset when I take good care of it. Very thick but still soft. My stylist says it's medium textured but I just have a huge amount of it. My only problem with my hair is that it's so heavy. Some styles HURT!

Anyway, back from the rabbit trail about my own hair. I use Garnier Frutics sleek%26amp;shine shampoo and conditioner every day. Then every once in a while (hardly ever remember to do it weekly) I use the three minute deep conditioner from the same line instead of the regular conditioner. It says it's for frizzy/dry/unmanagable hair, but I find it works really well to give shine and smoothness to my straight hair.Anyone know a good shampoo for straight hair?

Can I use human shampoo on my dog?

I know that in normal cases you're not supposed to. However, Silky Terrier fur is a lot like human hair in that it doesn't shed but instead breaks and splits. I've read that you can use human shampoo and conditioner on silky terriers. However, my dog is a silky terrier chihuahua mix. He mostly resembles a silky terrier, but I'm not sure if it's ok to use human shampoo on him.Can I use human shampoo on my dog?
No, it isn't. Please do not listen to the non-professionals. Dogs only have dog hair %26amp; it is not the same as human hair. Human ph is between 5.2 - 6.2 %26amp; dogs ph runs between 6.2 - 8.62 not to mention there are additives in human shampoo that is harmful to pets %26amp; their coat/skin. Almost no dogs need any conditioner pet or otherwise. The only ones that do are ones being treated for a particular skin issues. Your dog is having breakage due to static electricity %26amp; breakage for contact with carpets, furniture, grass etc. Breeders wrap the hair up so it doesn't get damaged from these things %26amp; brush %26amp; comb properly. Can I use human shampoo on my dog?
I have a scottie mix and we always use human shampoo it makes her softer and smell better. I don't believe when people say no don't. Just use it you can use it on any type of dog we've used it on poodles, labs, terriers, shepherds, tons of types and they are still alive, soft, and smell great.
My friend, a breeder of champion standard poodles got me on using store brand Pantene with conditioner included on my standard! Nothing works better! In reality, who would you think has a more sensitive scalp... a human with hair on our heads or dogs with hair or fur all over!

There was a time when people would readily fall for false advertising. Not so much anymore.
I know that human shampoo is not good for chihuahuas because their skin is very sensitive to things like that. There might be an exception to your dog though. I would contact a groomer.
I've always used human shampoo and never had a problem. Get a tearless one though so if it gets in their eyes in won't hurt.
Yah it doesn't hurt them it is the same on them as it is on you and just DON'T GET IT IN THEIR EYES.
I'm almost positive you shouldn't because it gets out the oils in their fur
yea but just rinse it out good till its not nomore soap
Ya i use it on my pomeranian evry time she has a bath

  • Does prenatal vitamins grow hair faster than mane and tail shampoo?

(I have a taped dark brush cut at the time, but i have decide on growing dreads and i need a quicker solution on how to grow my hair and then have shoulder length dreads in less than 1 1/2 year)Does prenatal vitamins grow hair faster than mane and tail shampoo?
No. Prenatal Vitamins are for pregnant women to keep them and there baby healthy. It's the hormones of pregnant women that make hair grow faster. They do not work. There is no possible way to make hair grow faster. No matter what people say. No proven way. Mane and Tail do not work.Does prenatal vitamins grow hair faster than mane and tail shampoo?
';Mad Hatter'; is right on the money...NOTHING makes hair grow faster. Time and patience is the key. Hair grows on average, 8-12 inches a year and grows at its own predetermined rate influenced by heredity. Taking prenatal vitamins can prove toxic to some people who obviously are not pregnant, too...taking them is dangerous stuff, as it can damage the liver, kidneys and other organs over time. Diet and scalp massage does NOT influence hair growth either...eating a healthy diet is just the right thing to do for your body, period. Research this information and you will see that this are proven scientific facts......
Yes, prenatal vitamins work from the inside out, which is how your hair grows. A lot of people think mane %26amp; tail shampoo works really well for growing hair long, but there's no proof of that. What helps hair grow faster is a healthy diet, vitamins, %26amp; massaging the scalp.
Yes it will work! Just do both it's make them grow alot faster!

REDKEN! I swear by it, been using it for years and its wonderful.

My hair feels like ive just left the hairdressers every time i use it, it makes me hair so shiney and soft and keeps that bounce and flow in it.

Ever since using it my hair isn't ever too dry, oily, tangled etc. And usually my hair would build up oil that just looks so disgusting within 24 hours of washing, now i can go two days and my hair looks fresh!

It really does repair your hair, and make it not only look healthy but actually be healthy.

Also my best friend uses de' lorenzo and her hair looks just as good, I tried it years ago and its great too :) I just love my redken, so havent parted with it.What's the best shampoo and conditioner for healthy, gorgeous hair?
The most important thing is to use a shampoo that has proper PH balance. Most brands you find in the store don't and they can actually add to the damage of your hair. Tresemme was originally a salon brand that found it's way onto the shelves and it's very affordable. It also maintains it's scent even in smokey areas or getting sweaty your hair will still smell great. If you want to go a little higher end I like Paul Mitchell especially his tea tree oil which is great if you have oily hair.

I personally only use Tresemme. I also use and recommend VO5 conditioning hairdressing. It's basically pure mineral oil and I've found it's best when applied while hair is still VERY wet. Just a small amount (i use an amount about as big as a pencil eraser for medium length very thick hair) and rub it between my hands and then over my hair and towel it through. Using to much will make your hair really greasy looking.

I always get complimented when I get my hair done that it's in perfect condition and never has any split ends. I blow dry and straighten my hair everyday and dye it almost monthly but you'd never know it.
I have found that the lo'real shampoo and conditioners work very well on your kind of hair. Try looking for the vegan shampoo and conditioners:

    1. because they aren't tested on animals

and 2. because they smell absolutely divine.
Tresemme is good. I also like fructis. But nothing will get rid of the split ends, other than cutting them off. And the ones that are already split will get worse the longer you leave them. To keep your hair healthy, try doing a deep condition every few weeks :)
You should use Garnier Fructis Length %26amp; Strength Shampoo and Conditioner. It makes your hair strong and shiny, and it repairs split ends and prevents new ones. I have long hair and it works great!
Mane n tail is what i ussualy use and now my hair is log thick and healthy And stronger=] ENJOY
    Tresseme Tresseme Oh la la!!
Nothing beats ';Biolage'; it`s very expensive but worth every drop
    Aveda Shampure

The best shampoo is Cream of Nature and conditioner, V05. Cream of Nature is avaible at Sally's or any beauty store and V05 can be bought anywhere.
You need a really good a really good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, more than likely you're not gonna find it on the shelf in a drugstore or at wal-mart. Most brands like Pantene or Herbal Essence or Suave have sulfates in them. . Sulfates are found in cheap shampoos. They are abrasive salts used to cleanse the hair but they do serious damage to the scalp and hair in the process. The best hair care I have found is made by a company called Elon. They make alot of Dermatology recommended products. I use their whole line of hair care to keep my hair soft and silky. Their pre-wash basically fixes damage caused by over treatment and coloring in 1-2 uses and their masque deep conditions. The shampoo and conditioner are sulfate free so they keep your hair soft. I use the shampoo and conditioner everyday and they other 2 once a week or so.

    Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!

use a very gentle shampoo and conditioner, perhaps every other day. by eating healthy (the usual 4 food groups) and vitamin supplements with biotin, and pumpkin seeds, you may be able to improve your hair density. these are things anyone can do to maintain their hair health.
Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. You can buy it at most beauty supply stores or order it online. I have done both. The last time I bought some was off of ebay. My hair does actually feel a little thicker.

Shampoo isn't the key to beautiful hair. Conditioner is. Pick whatever shampoo you like, don't really matter. Pick Pantene Pro-V for your hair type, or better (salon conditioner). Sounds like you need a moisturizing conditioner. Shampoo, then condition. I like to let the conditioner sit for a minute or so before I rinse.

What is the best shampoo to use?

Ok so I am twelve and am trying to figure out what kind of shampoo people use for OILY hair ONLY so I can to a chart to see what is most used just give me the type you use and if you have oliy hair or not. What is the best shampoo to use?
Stay away from drug store shmp/condt most of them contain wax. Pantene has a lot of waxs and actually is so heavy it can make weak hair fall out. Get a product from a Salon or Pro bueaty store like ulta or Sephora that is made for oily hair. Get real pro foumulas like --- Frederic Fekkai Clarifying --- it is Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo. It says that it is good for all hair types, but it is especially good for oily hair. It gets all of the heavy oil out of your hair. It has apple cider vinegar. That is an acid and can break trhough oil really good. But its does not strip the hair of its essential oils that it needs.

For a cheap solution try regular apple cider mixed in with any clarifying shampoo for oily hair. OR... lemon juice. Just watch your eyes though and other sensitive areas. It burns! Treat it like washing a perm or dye out (do it in the sink). What is the best shampoo to use?

Ever since I started using Revlon Flex Sun Protective Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner, my hair's become really strong (it hardly ever falls), and it's also become a shiny dark black color (black is my natural color) ... so I'd recommend that. It also helps to alternate using this stuff with another shampoo - Garnier Fructis is another good brand of shampoo %26amp; conditioner - using Flex %26amp; Fructis alternately makes for great hair, but this is not really necessary.

And never ever forget to use a conditioner after shampooing - it makes the hair softer and shinier ...

    Hope this helps u. :)

Can you get dry shampoo for dark hair?

I am going to a couple of festivals this summer but my hair tends to get geasy after a couple of days espcially in the heat. I don't want to try and wash it at the festival because it goes frizzy and would need straightening. Some of my blonde friends are all set with dry shampoo but my hair is dark brown so whenever i use it it just makes me look like i've gone grey. Are there any options for dark haired people? Can you get dry shampoo for dark hair?
I have dark brown hair and use dry shampoo all the time, especially at festivals no problem- even the batiste ones which are supposed to be the worst for powdery-ness. You just have to spray them about 20cm away from your head and ruffle your hair really thoroughly afterwards. However you can get dry shampoo in black or brown, or blonde and red for that matter from Bumble%26amp;Bumble, it's 拢15 though but there aren't any other brands that do coloured hair powder. The easiest place to get it from is probably lookfantastic.com, they are really reliable with deliveries and stuff in my experienceCan you get dry shampoo for dark hair?
There's a delorenzo one called rebalance, it's a spray so it's not white but it will handle oiliness.

I'm in love with the oatmeal based ones like klorine though, and I have jet black hair. You spray it all over your roots and don't touch for 30 seconds, then brush well. There will be very little white left once you do this and any remaining white will go pretty quickly as the oil in your hair gets absorbed.
A friend of mine uses http://www.hairtrade.com/product_info.ph鈥?/a>

It is a bit pricey so maybe do some research. :)
I have black hair and use dry shampoo no problem.

To beat the grey hair look:

You could be spraying the product too close to your hair and try spraying at night before you go to bed
yes, just avoid the batiste ones. i love one from Savers its by Beauty Formula and is only 87p. I've tried a few from Boots but this one def works better

Can I use my shampoo on my dog?

I was wondering if i could use my regular shampoo like herbal essences or head and shoulders on my dog just to wash her. Cuz i dont get whats the difference between dog shampoo and regular shampoo. Do vets just say to use dog shampoo because they recommend it or can using human shampoo really harm my dog?Can I use my shampoo on my dog?
Head %26amp; Shoulders and other medicated shampoos may be a bit severe. I'd pass on it unless your dog has skin and coat problems. But a general shampoo is fine. I stopped buying dog shampoo a long time ago. We use our 'good stuff' on our dogs ....shampoo and conditioner. Does a better job and lasts a lot longer. Most dog shampoo is pretty cheap stuff.

Add: Any shampoo will lessen the effectiveness of flea treatments. We always bathe the dogs a day or two before we apply the stuff so there's no problem. Can I use my shampoo on my dog?
Human shampoo can be very harsh to your dog and give the dry itchy skin. You can wash your dog with dawn dishsoap, or pert plus i know that. You could even try baby shampoo since its so gentle. Those should only be a one time thing though, you should really get a dog shampoo.
    No you can't.

Human shampoo is made for humans %26amp; has different ph %26amp; soap/foaming based chemicals that pet shampoos do not have. Just pet shampoo, most are as cheap as human shampoos with less risk to pet having a bad reaction to chemicals or fragrances.
Omg.. some of your answers are severely lacking in mental capacity. ITS THE SAME THING. Yea some will be harsher.. some are harsher on people too. Vets just want you to spend the extra 5 bucks! Ive used anything I had on hand for 14 yrs its fine! Geez!
Yea, you can use your shampoo on your dog. I think the difference is that dog shampoo gets rid of ticks and fleas and helps protect their coat and make it shiny. My aunt uses Aussie on her dog all the time .
Generally human shampoo is harsher on the dog's skin than ';dog'; shampoo. Also, if you use Frontline, using anything but mild dog shampoo will strip it off their skin and you've wasted your money on the flea preventative.
I don't think you should use human shampoo on dogs because i think if you use regular shampoo on a dog, it will lose its fur or something.
yes human shampoo has ingredients that most dogs and cats cant have. using ur shampoo could seriously harm ur dog. i use a dog brand shampoo i got at coco's vet.
I think it would sting their eyes. My vet recommends Dawn dish soap.

They use it on animals stuck in oil spills, so it's pretty gentle on your pet.
    No--use dog shampoo.

But, my vet said head and Shoulders was okay to use .

    I would use very little.

    Good Luck!
Try some baby soap/shampoo that doesn't burn the eyes.
yaa believe me it doesn't matter.... they just say that for you to buy their productss soooo yaa dont pay ANY attention to them.
No, it is better not to. Animal formulas are different.
    no. use dog shampoos.

    John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette!!

It makes your hair so shiny without making it oily. And if you use it with Brilliant Brunette Conditioner you won't have any tangles
    Suave......it compliments LONG BROWN HAIR..LMAO
Suave is good for an everyday and cheap too. Pantene good for about every 3-4 days. I use the Same conditioner as shampoo brand too, I not condition every time I shampoo either. Pantene comes with a mix.
I have long brown hair and use TRESemme. It's fairly cheap and keeps my hair very smooth and manageable.

Unless you've dyed your hair, its color doesn't usually matter very much in choosing shampoo. Texture (curly or straight, etc.) matters more, with different shampoos marketed specifically for different hair types.
    garnier it's really good
John Freida for brunettes,it really works to keep shine and keeps your hair in good shape for when u use a curling iron or straightener
Pantene I use it and I really like it..!
    biolage
I'll say Head %26amp; Shoulders is good for any type.
MOTIONS AT HOME. THAT WHOLE PRODUCT LINE IS GREAT FOR HAIR AND COST EFFECTIVE
Catwalk Oatmeal %26amp; Honey. Not only does it leave your hair soft, shiny, %26amp; silky but it smells just like oatmeal cookies.. Just don't try to eat it.
Kerastase. Your hair will be like silk on your head without being weighed down. Phenomenol. I have never in my life of being a product junkie used anything that comes close. It's expensive but absolutely worth it. Your hair is the only accessory you always have on, invest in it, make it outstanding. Use Kerastase.
I have Brown hair, I love using Dove shampoo and conditioner. I love the way it makes if feel.
john freida`s shampoos and conditioners..he specializes in brunettes =]

Well i would like to know myself...

but i think i heard Sedu makes a good one..
    use tresseme
    John Frieda and Sedal
I can say that John Freida has a color gloss product that you use between shampoo and conditioner. It actually deposits small amounts of color over time. So if you go brunette, and it starts to dull, you can use the brunette gloss over 3 or 4 days and really give it's VAVOOM back! I have un-dyed auburn hair and I use the gloss for red heads and I notice a big difference after 3 applications!
For colored hair, spend the money and get John Frieda products plus they help add highlights to your color as well so that is a bonus.

My all time favorite is Pantene, always is my best kind but I tried the above this summer and the color looks great but it was dry for me.. Now, Patene has just come out with their own Color Enhancer Shampoo, I just bought it this past Monday and I prefer it b/c it conditions my hair alot more that the Frieda Products. Personal Choice is Patene. Hope that helps :)
