Is it okay to use shampoo and conditioner everyday?

everyday as in everyday i put shampoo and conditioner on my hair...is it wrong? Is it okay to use shampoo and conditioner everyday?
really you shouldn't wash your hair everyday. Take a shower yes, but try and skip at least a day between washings. Conditioner and shampoo can build up. So, change up the kind you use sometimes. And do a deep conditioner like 1 a week.Is it okay to use shampoo and conditioner everyday?
no, you can do whatever you want to your hair...but lets say you have dry or damaged hair and you want to repair it some way other than having it cut, then you just use conditioner for 2 straight weeks. and you dont have to do it every day...leaving your hair dirty for a day or two (if your home) will allow your hair to get oily which is a natural exfoliate for teh damaged hair..and just so you know, even if some brands of shampoo have hydrates or repair on the label doesnt really mean they are telling the truth. Shampoo actually dries out the hair.
No it is not wrong, i have very fine hair, and I need to shampoo and condition every day. Its different for every person, depending on your hair. Don't worry!
Not if you have curly hair. It will wash away the natural oils of your hair and cause foof city.

I would only do it if I got super sweaty and dirty on a regular basis.
well i do ,

apparentl褔 its bad for the natural oils?

owell ever褔one does :]
no its not wrong.
no i do.....

Is there such thing as shampoo and conditioner that gets rid of split ends?

at walmart for $10 or lessIs there such thing as shampoo and conditioner that gets rid of split ends?
no not that i know of, i wish there was, but pantene shampoo and condition vary for like breakage of hair, etcetc there good shampoos,

i had a friend and her mom told me she that they put mayo on there end and it would work, i don't recommend it because i have no idea.Is there such thing as shampoo and conditioner that gets rid of split ends?
No you will have to cut them off The shampoos and conditioners that claim to heal split ends simply coat them to make them smoother.
no,cut them off
no there isnt if ou have split ends you absolutely have to get them cut off if you dont they can get worse and do a lot of damage to your hair so take care of it now before its too late and your hair looks all wirey when it does that it doesnt feel good or look pretty
No, unfortunately there isn't. There are shampoos that improve the condition of your hair, though. The only way to get rid of split ends its to cut them off.
No.

Split ends are permanent damaga on your hair, and the only way to get rid of them is to cut them.

Many shampoos claim they can remove them, but all they can really do is prevent them.

Hope this helps :)
nope the only way to get rid of dead ends is to cut them off there is shampoos that can help u keep from getting them
If you aren't ready to cut your hair yet, rinsing it with ice cold water works well to maintain the split ends. Using serum on the ends of your hair will also help to keep the condition, as well as using leave in conditioners - Frizz Ease always works well for me! Have a look at this site for extra tips;

  • Does organic care anti dandruff shampoo work?

I've used it but now i have even more than before. its either its not good for me or it has peeled the first layer of my scalp getting rid of it graduallyDoes organic care anti dandruff shampoo work?
Dandruff shampoo should contain an active ingredient in order to work. It should contain Pyrithium Zinc, Ketoniazole, coal tar, or a few other active ingredients.

Here is an article about different kinds of dandruff shampoos on the market, and how to choose one: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>Does organic care anti dandruff shampoo work?

How do i unclog a bath tub it has a plastic shampoo cap?

My son drop a shampoo cap in the tubHow do i unclog a bath tub it has a plastic shampoo cap?
Try a shop vac.How do i unclog a bath tub it has a plastic shampoo cap?
Try using needle nose pliers to retrieve the cap, they are long, thin pliers that can reach into tight spaces. If you don't have that you can also wait until the cap dries - water will affect this method - roll a piece of tape onto itself so it is double-sided. Take a wire hangar and straighten it out, put an ';L'; shape bend at one end, attach the tape to that end (so that it has a larger surface are to adhere to) and see if you can push the wire onto the cap to stick to it and retrieve it that way (use can try gum too if you wish).

Try using the hose of your vacuum cleaner to get it - use the narrowest attachment you have to create the greatest suction power from it. Do you have a shop vac or can you borrow one? Those are stronger than household vacuums.

Don't force the cap into the drain - it may become lodged somewhere in your pipes, hair, etc. can get clogged behind it, creating a much bigger problem.

Is it true that Baby Shampoo helps your hair grow longer and thicker?

I just wanted to know if this is true. I heard this yesterday, but i'm not so convinced. I will try it though. What brand should i use? Is there such thing as Baby Conditioner too or no? Well i hope people that have tried it or heard about it can let me know. Thank you :)Is it true that Baby Shampoo helps your hair grow longer and thicker?
No shampoo or oil or anything you put ON your hair will affect it's growth cycle or strength or length. The only chance you have to influence how hair grows is by taking supplements that work with your body's chemistry to support healthy hair growth. Once the hair has grown out and is outside the scalp...it is just dead keratin tissue and nothing will change it's structure. Conditioners and shampoos can coat the hair with waxy coatings that make the hair appear shiny, but they cannot change the chemical composition of the hair, that can only take place with systemic supplementation........IE taking hair vitamins...this is all scientific fact.

I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.

GNC makes a tablet called ';Ultra Nourishair'; in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.

ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called ';Hair Skin and Nails'; formula, here is the link for that

    http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro鈥?/a>

This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.

I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.

The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.

My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.

The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a ';Jack and the beanstalk'; type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growthIs it true that Baby Shampoo helps your hair grow longer and thicker?
No, it's horrible for your hair. When it says that it's gentle, it means it's gentle for your eyes so you don't have to worry about it irritating children's eyes. In order to do that, they put in a lot of chemicals that are horrible for your hair.
nope. it leaves ur hair feeling greesey and oily and stuff. dont do it!!
    That is not correct
Its a myth... babies hair does grow faster than adults but not because of the shampoo, you have the type of hair you have because of genetics, not shampoo! You can change the look of your hair with some chemicals though, try the hair salon if your looking for a change!
    No it does not work.
No. I use baby shampoo because I have a sensitive scalp. It will not change the texture or promote the growth of your hair.
I haven't heard that before...but i do know its a gentle shampoo...thats why we use it on babies.
NO! In fact, it can make your hair oily.
    It isn麓t true
Baby shampoo is real nice, it makes your hair nice and shiny
no. actually no shampoo will make your hair better. your hair is dead. the follicles from which you hair grows is not dead, but the actual hair itself is. so using some $20 shampoo would be the exact same as using body soap. so when the commercials say to buy their product because they use all these weird ingredients, it doesn't really matter.
Not really, but its more gentle with less abrasive chemicals and so generally better for hair.

  • I wash my hair with shampoo properly but the dandruff still dont go away please help?

I am really annoyed with this whole dandruff and white bits coming from my hair and now i really need advise from a professional...any advise will doI wash my hair with shampoo properly but the dandruff still dont go away please help?
Thats the problem, you're washing with shampoo. Dandruff is caused when one has dry hair. Try oiling your hair a bit. I know it sounds yucky but it works, and dont bathe in oil. Take a little oil and rub it gently around your scalp and massage your scalp gently. Make sure not to take a little. Take a fair bit, just dont bathe in it. And then the next day shampoo your hair with a small amount and ONE application. Then oil again before bed, then the next day just pour water, DONT SHAMPOO, if you feel your head's feeling itchy or weird. Since you have dandruff, shampoo 2 or 3 times a week but oil them every day for at least 2 or 2.5 weeks.

Also, change your shampoo. Use Anti Dandruff, scalp cooling ones, that rid you of dandruff. Some of them have anti dandruff conditioners as well. Actually, I had a terrible case of dandruff myself. The oil works sometimes, but if you have like a lot, then try both techniques. Oil and wash your hair with anti dandruffs; shampoo and conditioner. My dandruff went quicker than said on the pack!

hee heeI wash my hair with shampoo properly but the dandruff still dont go away please help?
my hubby went to a dermatologist for this problem and this worked for him. first you buy Head and Shoulders Shampoo any type you like then you brush your hair well to loosen any flakes then wet your hair and apply the shampoo and lather it, for 5 minutes you leave the lather(make sure you time it) on then rinse really well. The reason most people have a problem with the dandruff shampoos is not leaving it on long enough for it to work. also shampoo every day and use conditioner if needed for tangles or dryness. I so hope this helps you too.
USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS, IT,S GOOD,BUT IF YOU HAVE NATURALLY DRY HAIR,SEE YOUR BARBER FOR ADVICE.
do u use shampoo that helps get rid of dandruff? cal a hair stylist to help
Maybe you need a strong dandruff shampoo besides Head %26amp; Shoulders. Go to your local pharmacy and on the bottle or box it will tell you it is strong. Some people have a condition that causes dandruff but it is not the normal season type. If this doesn't work then you do need to see a doctor for futher advise.

    Good luck
Check this website for some info on dandruff
I use TGel by Neutrogena and use Head %26amp; Shoulders conditioner, my scalp is perfect and it used to be really really dry.
I used ot have a similar problem even though I used Haed %26amp; Shoulders every time I washed. My hairdresser told me that it's actually bad to use it so often as it strips your scalp and can make the problem worse. I began using baby shampoo instead and within a couple of weeks it was completely gone
Loads of good advice but also make sure you are rinsing thoroughly as shampoo can leave a residue that causes dandruff.

    Hope it clears
head and shoulders, that salon blue stuff apparently works too...
if you have used dandruff shampoos with no results, it is time to see a dr. it may be a case of psoriasis that you have and not dandruff
    head and shoulders works great
Go to your local herbalist shop or similar and try a shampoo that does not have sodium lauryl sulphate in it. This is in most brands of shampoo even the supposed up market ones. This detergent is very harsh and it was originally made for degreasing car engines and washing workshop floors. This stuff stripes your scalp of all oil which is a bad thing. Its worth a try if its just dry scalp you have. If you cant get a suitable shampoo from the herbal shop email me and I will send you some. Going on holiday at the end of this week so if you do email I will get back to you as soon as I get home.

Just read ANNA answer and good advice but what ever you do NEVER use baby oil because that is just cheap mineral oil try almond or apricot or even veg oil from your kitchen these oils all have vitamins and minerals in them which sink into your skin baby oil in fact stops the skin from breathing and performing as it should
head and shoulders, u know wht they say in the adverts? voted no. 1 in readers poll in fhm or someit, wash your hair everday or every 2 days,
Has one tried the HEAD AND SHOULDERS shampoo?
wrap your hair over night in cocanut oil gets rid of dandruff its a real tonic
Use Head %26amp; Shoulders, if not u can get a prescription shampoo, if it's really bad. (Nizarol think it's called)
Hi which shampoo are you using, Im not saying use an anti dandruff shampoo but if you are using a shampoo and conditioner that is anti dandruff and stiff getting the dandruff then 9 times out of 10, its the scent in the shampoo and conditioner that is giveing you a dry scalp. and also if you swim alot then the chlorine can do it too.

I used to suffer with what I thought was dandruff, and even head and shoulders didnt work. it wanst until I switch to a mild scented shampoo that I notice it was the shampoo and condidtoners that was making giving me a dry scalp which appeared to be dandruff.

Even now if I used products like, pantene, herbal essences after first was I have a flaking scalp. so I have to change,

Believe it or not now I am using childrens 2 in one shampoo as well as the childrens condtioner and using leave in conditoners after I wash my hair to detangle it and I works a treat I get no irritate scalp and flakiness, and its much cheaper.

Do I need to buy shampoo with color care?

It's my first time dying my hair, and I'm dying it black. I wanted to know if buying color care shampoo is Absolutely necessary?

and any tips on dying hair for the first time would be really helpful!Do I need to buy shampoo with color care?
If you want it to stay black then yes. But drugstore junk is really harsh and will strip the color right out, so you need to get a salon quality shampoo.Do I need to buy shampoo with color care?
Yes, if you want your color to stay truer longer and not fade as fast.

If your going rom one end of the color spectrum to the other, (blonde to black, or vise-versa) then you will need to get an anti-frizz serum to apply to your ends to keep the from splitting. Going from one color to the other is very damaging to your hair and the serum will help to keep it healthy and protect it. I recommend John Frieda Anti-Frizz Serum, sold at mass retailers for about $5. Just apply it to towel dried hair and style as normal. Also, using a deep hydrating mask one a week will keep your hair in tip-top condition. I like the Time Renewal Hair Conditioning Mask from Pantene. Hope this helps.
Yes, if youre hair is dyed, you should try to make it more healthy in as many ways as possible. Color care is a good start.

clinic all clear for men... it not only does help in removing dandruff but also prevents it from coming back.. i used it and it's just great.. but i suggest you that whatever shampoo you try, try it for a month or two.. if the condition doesn't improve, visit a good dermatologist who will suggest you a medicated shampoo specially for dandruff.. or else clinic all clear for men is awesome... give it a try..it'll surely work
If u need professional permanent solution, go for the Segals Solutions Program, now available in India. Only gentle organic stuff that is backed by research. Rare herbals, formulated in Canada by a qualified pharmacist, pH balanced.

there is a really good mint shampoo and conditioner that you can find at hair salons, its in a green bottle. it smells really minty, and its good. for dandruff, its important to have a healthy and moisterized scalp.
Tar can reduce your sperm count and reduce erections. I have dandruff and have cured it by simply taking more showers. Used to be every few days because of my job-stepped it up to daily-cured.

i had dandruff too. so i went to the chemist and they gave me Himalaya Herbals anti-dandruff shampoo for normal hair and Himalaya Herbals Protein Conditioner. it will do its work in your second or third wash. It works like a charm.........
Head and Shoulders works wonders! it moisturizes the scalp preventing dry scalp to begin flaking again. You can purchase it at grocery stores, drugstores for $4.
Head and Shoulders works really well. I don't know about any types of tricks, but you may want to wash your hair more often to control it. You may want to contact your doctor if your condition worsens. Good Luck!
T- Gel is really good, the smell will make you gag but it works wonders.

What is the problem about going to see the vet today. He has medicated sprays for this. One bath a month... Do not use the same soap. I have never had problem going to Wlmart and getting Suave --strawberry -- for 99 cents... It has a low PH level...If I use anthiing on me other than Suave---danderuff and itch.... Cheapest stuff in the store...

If you are not going to see the vet then get Bactine spray--better get more than one can...The pet store has stuff... If your going to let the dog suffer for three weeks give the dog to someone else.....
You shoudn't bathe him that often since that can cause his skin to dry out even more because the natural oils in the coat get washed out.

To stop him from itching you can buy something called Relief Spray. There are different kinds but I have found that the ones that are based on oats are the most effective.

This is the one my vet recomended

    http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?鈥?/a>

Then I would deffinatly take him to the vet. It could be mange or any other subspeces (sp?) of mange or even hot spots.

Then I would give him a salmon oil supplement. The fatty acids will help the dandruff.
It might be a good idea to take him to the vet....it may not be dandruff. Dogs sometimes get ';mange';, skin red and flaking and they itch constantly...Best to double-check and make sure and not take any chances with your pet.
I wash my Yorkie once every week use Buddy Wash. It is organic.

    Ingredients:

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

Coconut Shampoo Base, Aloe Vera Gel, Essence Of Lavender, Essence Of Mint, Chamomile Extract, Sage Extract, Nettle Extract, Rosemary Extract, Wheat Protein Extract (natural deodorizing agent), Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin C
My rottie mix has the same problem. Sometimes bathing once a wk can be a problem, since dogs have natural oils that protect their skin (much like humans) and sometimes stripping those oils away too frequently can cause irritation, making the problem worse.

As far as shampoo, I use a banana oatmeal dog shampoo on Bosco, sometimes once a wk, sometimes every other wk, depending on how his skin is. It works pretty good, better than anything else I've tried, and he scratches and flakes a lot less than before. Good luck.
don't bathe him. If you're bathing that frequently then you're washing away his natural body oils, thus causing very dry skin. It willl only get worse if you continue baths that often. I highly recommend a food that is high in omega 3 %26amp; 6 and fish oil. If you want to stay on your current food you can purchase fish oil to add to his food, it'll help with skin and coat
you should bathe him once every 2-3 Weeks so his skin wont dry out...you can try shampoos with tea tree oil or oatmeal! Or ask your vet they have some really good shampoos might not smell great but it will work! I use oatmeal for my dog and it works pretty good but you have to keep in mind every dog is different and wont react the same to everything! hope this helps good luck!
Yes, once a week is too much. It depletes the skin and coat of natural oils needed to stay moisturized. Only bathe no more than once a month. I like Buddy Wash. It's organic and uses natural oils. The lavender and mint works good and also repells fleas. A good oatmeal shampoo would be great too.
Don't know if this will help you but I give my dogs olive or rape seed oil on their breakfast and I almost never bath them, only if they roll in something stinky. Their coats and skin are in fab condition. If I do need to bath them I do it outside with the hose pipe and use fairy washing up liquid
Perhaps you should shave him for a while and put lotion for sensitive skin on him.
Try head and shoulders, you can also try main and tail horse shampoo. If all else fails go to your nearest health food store, and ask them. They usually carrier things like that if it's a grocery type store.
My first question is - what are you feeding your dog?

One of our dogs is severely allergic to wheat and/or wheat gluten. Many dogs are allergic to corn and or wheat. The symptoms our dog exhibited were just like you are mentioning. It was almost like he was molting. A LOT of dandruff, it was almost like his skin was rotting off, he stunk, he had red itchy skin and none of this would be ';cured'; with a bath. In fact, one say after a bath he was in the same predictament. Lots of dandruff and lots of itching - it was like he had fleas.

Once we changed food - a food that contained neither wheat/wheat gluten or corn his symptoms cleared right up and he is ';normal';. I would check your food. That is an easy fix - elminate the allergen and the skin clears right up.

We use Tomlyn's milk bath shampoo (available at PetCo). It's gentle, has no dyes in it (which some dogs with sensative skin can have problems with) and doesn't overly suds up. If you don't remove/rinse all the suds after bathing, you can end up with the same skin issues.
Once a week is too much, I started this when I first had a pup but was recommended to give him a bath once every 2-3 weeks at most. You could try shampoos and conditioners with oatmeal. The vet could also prescribe some shampoos as my vet did for me. Good luck with your pet.

edit: for his itching now you could try to get some sprays with cortisol in it to stop itching, try some pet stores I'm sure they carry some type of product for this
Well, if his skin is red, then he could have some sort of flea/mange irritation that you would want to get checked out.

If that is not the problem, then first, stop bathing him every week. That is not good! Every time you shampoo him, he loses the nutrients in his fur which he needs. Bathe him every three weeks. If you are worried about him smelling, get some sort of a scent spray.

Second, the reason his skin is in poor condition is most likely his diet. I hope you are not feeding him any generic brand of food like Pedigree, Iams, etc. If you are, please research and get him a good premium dog food (Innova, Canidae).

Next, give him a raw egg in his food like once or twice a week, that will fix his coat. Also, make sure he gets some sor of vitamins daily, and add either Fish Oil or Flax Seed Oil to his diet.

    This will fix everything!
    Groomax Allergin Reducing Shampoo

Works great! you can get it at petsmart for $6.99 a bottle.

Don't wash your dog every week! Your making his skin condition worse. He only need a bath once a month (twice at most ever)

My scottie flakes too and also gets red patchy dry spots on his skin since he was a baby (hes 2 now). He may just need Omega 3 tablets (get at petsmart too or you can get it cheeper at the supermarket, the human stuff is the same thing). Its basically fish oil. For some reason some dogs can't produce a natural oil to their skin so they need suppliments. This should help!

I don't think they would need to use shampoo or only a tiny amount as there is still some natural oils that come out of their heads. What do bald men use to wash their heads, soap or shampoo?
oh my god thats funny....i never thot of that......im gonna put tis on my watchlist :)
    conditioner with anti-dandruff..tee-hee..
why would they use shampoo for a bald head? silly question
    They need nothing..
ha ha ha..i dont no gud question...obviously not shampoo coz theyd have no need for it
Shampoo because it works for scalp as well.
To have a clean bath..........that is what i think
    Their hands id of thought!
    would think soap
    I use soap and water...

it is just skin like anything else.. although lotion is needed to keep the skin healthy and from drying out.
Umm.. they have no hair, but i would say shampoo.. because most people dont put soap on their head!
My hubby is bald and he uses shower gel, or whatever is in the shower at the time. He uses shampoo on his beard though.
I didn't know they still needed to wash that area. Haha. I guess it would be shampoo. But if the guy's on a budget, he might save the trouble to purchase a shampoo - just slap the soap on.
    idk! they have no hair!
Easy. I use Mop and Glow.
car wax and then a cloth to buff it up to a great shine? ;0)

I suppose they'd use soap...it's be cheaper than using shampoo....
Why are your asking a quesiton you already heard before?

They use whatever, it's a preference.

In your opinion what shampoo is the best?

Cheap: PanteneIn your opinion what shampoo is the best?
each person's hair is different, you must buy shampoo that goes with your hair type.

';apparently';, the more expensive shampoos have less salt and wax, but on oprah there was a lady who said it doesn't matter.

Aussie (sp?) or Herbal Essence for sure.... they both are cheap, smell great and work just as well as other more expensive brands.
pantene, cristophe, redken, kerastase and organix
sun- wavy or curly-hair shampoo and conditioner
    PANTENE OR INFUSIUM
Pantene really works for me, and it's expensive at all. It makes my hair really shiny. =D
anything with avacado oil in it. Paul Mitchell is great.
herbal essences and garnier fructis defo!!
I love the blue Matrix kind

What is the best shampoo/conditioner/hair care for damaged hair and split ends???

The best shampoo/ conditioner I believe is natural and chemical free it is found at the below website.

It seal, conditions, and cleanses the hair. It is recommended that keeping your hair chemical free it will make your hair stronger, healthier, and shiner. What is the best shampoo/conditioner/hair care for damaged hair and split ends???
i've used so many and i think that cheapo vo5 for split ends shampoo and conditioner are good. also i like to use awapui conditoner in addition to the split ends one with some hot oil like suave or queen helene. it helps make the hair healthier. along with avoiding heat styling except for once or twice a week. if your hair is hard to tame you can always put some vo5 detangle and shine in it the rest of the time and wrap it up at night. What is the best shampoo/conditioner/hair care for damaged hair and split ends???
you can get this at any saturdays or hair care place, its a tan bottle and its called Cashmere...kinda like a cashmere sweater, it does good. Do your self, your hair and your wallet a favor...DON';T but anything from a dept. store or anything like that. stay away from everything on those shelves regaurdless of what they say. No hairapy, no garniar nutrice, no dove, nothing like that. ALWAYS get things from hair supply places. EVERYTHING on the market right now has wax and a whole bunch of crap in it. its like your washing your hair with dish detergant and lotion...its bad.
I've been using BioInfusion's ';The Gentle One '; Shampoo with their leave- In conditioner and that's been working good for me. I blow dry and flat iron nearly everyday. I used to use Sunsilk until I realized it was breaking my hair. I have what stylists call normal thin hair so it looks like I have a lot of hair but I really don't. It isn't coarse and only needs medium heat to straighten.
i would try bumble and bumble rich conditioner, smells amazing and works wonders!
Apparently all of them according to their adverts.

What is the best shampoo and/or conditioner that helps save your hair color from fading out so fast?

I use garnier frutice's color formula. It doen't strip the color, plus it makes your hair soft and smells good!

What is the best shampoo & conditioner for african american hair.....?

Without the natural hair becoming tangled or difficult to manage after shampoo? What is the best shampoo %26amp; conditioner for african american hair.....?
I'm a hairsylist and the major line i see being used and that I myself LOVE is Kera Care by Avlon. Its a Professional product tha you can only get from the beauty supply. They have products to fit everyones needs from color treated hair to dry itchy scalps. As soon as you use their products you FEEL it working...its a little costly but worth it!What is the best shampoo %26amp; conditioner for african american hair.....?
My hair is really soft and curly. I usually wear it natural most of the year, blowing it out to wear it straight during the colder months. The BEST product line I have found is Motions. Their Lavish Conditioning Shampoo and After Shampoo Conditioner with Silicon work miracles on my hair which can be very difficult to manage!

Coming from a person who has tried almost every product out there (to include Mane n' Tail) Motions is pretty inexpensive and worth a try! Not only does the conditioner totally eliminate tangles, it also makes the hair smooth and shiny when dry.
Carol's Daughter is a line of hair products that caters to all ethinicities, esp afro-american hair. Check out their products because i heard they are really great and they use all natural ingredients that promote growth and really condition the hair.

    The site is www.carolsdaughter.com.
There isn't one line that is best, what really matters is what does your hair need.

There are some women that swear by Kera Care Line or Aveda DR - both which cost a bit but are worth it.

I use two real cheapy conditioners and detangle in the shower - Vo5 Strawberries and Cream and Tressemme. - both are for mositure for protein I use Le Klair Cholesterol.

The key is to get something that makes your hair slippery and use a detangling comb while you're in the shower.

  • Which is the best shampoo for wavy/curly hair?

My hair is not curly as such but sort of between wavy and curly. Also my hair is a little coarse and dry.

Are there any products i should use after washing my hair?Which is the best shampoo for wavy/curly hair?
I'm trying to find a good shampoo %26amp; conditioner too. :] I'm trying Garnier on my next hair wash, but I don't wanna recommend it since I haven't tried it. I am currently using Pantene Hydrating Curls conditioner. It works okay, but I hear it leaves buildup (which I am slowly starting to believe), so I suggest not using it.

As for products, since I'm mixed (causing me to have thick, dry, coarse hair) I use Motions Moustiruizer (pink bottle), but I think this is only for black/african american/ethnic/people of color/ect. people. I also use a shine gloss/serum and either Sunsilk Frizz Ease or Suave Proffesional Curl Creme. Then I follow up with mousse if I'm leaving my hair down or if I put it in a ponytail. I use Tresseme (sp) Curl Care Mousse. Hope this helps! :DWhich is the best shampoo for wavy/curly hair?
Pantene and Herbal Essences! i use Pantene for shampoo and Herbal Essences for conditioner and i have similar hair as you
I use Tresemme Smooth %26amp; Silky on my hair and it works wonders for my frizzy curls. I also have very dry hair and it really does add moisture to it. To add even more moisture and manageablity, I use Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Conditioner. I don't suggest this conditioner unless you have very thick hair, though because it's a very heavy cream that can weight down your hair.

I've used Pantene -- hated it. I've used Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Shampoo and it really didn't do anything for me. I've also used Alberto V05 and got sick of it. So, I'm staying with Tresemme for now
    sunsilk
    pantene.

How often should guys shampoo/condition their hair?

Every day, twice a day... how often?? Whats best for you hairHow often should guys shampoo/condition their hair?
twice a day ? maybe if you are construction worker %26amp; get it full of dirt.

wash it when it gets oily or when you can't control it. I do it daily. Washing doesn't help the hair, just keeps it clean. try conditioner, you probably won't notice any difference unless you color it. How often should guys shampoo/condition their hair?
Well, I'm not a guy, but I should hope that you shampoo your hair at least once a day for good hygeine purposes. ;) As for conditioning, I guess that depends on the shape your hair is in.
Well I've got medium length hair, and I Shampoo it everyday and use Conditioner everyday. Try Garnier Fructis products, they are great. Keeps my hair strong, smooth and healthy.
as often as you want to

Paul Mitchell strengthening shampoo and strengthening conditioner.

If your hair is really dry, don't wash it every day; that will only make it worse.
I had dry hair, and used to use Pantene, but they have changed their formula and what not so I didnt work the same. Now I use Garnier and it works like a charm. Just use the shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner. It will help
i use suave. its really good and cheap. try it
    noutraguina works very good
Try the Nioxin brand. they have many formulas for different types of hair. They also have vitamins and styling aids.
bumble and bumble you can purchase it at select salons and a few cvs pharmacys sell it now. Its the best thats out there, Its a little pricey at $20 per bottle but beautiful hair is worth it,
Arbonne. Most products on the market contain ingredients that cause irritation and dryness such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, mineral oil, etc. These only give a temporary feeling of softness and smell fabulous but they have little to no long term benefits. Arbonne has some great pure, safe, and beneficial products that are formulated to meet your specific need. The self adjusting daily shampoo and conditioner are formulated with natural tree oil. Native to Australia, tea tree oil is known as “The wonder from down under.” :-) This natural, super-potent oil treats dry, flaky scalp, so that both the head and hair are left nourished, and flake-free. It's botanically based, pure, and safe with key ingredients including nanospheres, nettle, hops, sage and thyme extracts, vitamins A, C, E. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to send you one.
I have the same problem! I lose more hair than I should daily, but it is normal for the human to lose aproximately 65 hairs a day and their is nor cure for that. For dry scalp I go to walgreens and get the walgreens brand of dandruff shampoo and dandruff is dryscalp so dont worry then it leaves a bad smell in your hair for a while if you dont shampoo with a different shampoo so I use pantene pro-v restoration after that. then condition. instead of air drying, blow dry so the heat makes your scalp heat up and then soften out. My mom told me to do this everday for three weeks and it actually worked!

    garnier fructis length and strength
You should try a hot oil conditioning treatment.
yes, pantene pro-v it the worst stuff out there that is one reason your hair is so dry and if it falling out i recommend usin nioxin......that is made for that so definatley try it, it also helps your hair grow and thicken.
I agree with you !! I also use pantene-prov!! Try herbal essences, or tone!! : )
do a hot oil treatment about once a week, and look for any deep conditioning shampoo and conditioner, but if your hair is dry or damaged stay away from any hair products with protein.

  • Does panteen beautiful lengths shampoo and conditioner work? ?

Ive recently bought this but have only used it about 4 times. So has annyone has success with it? And If so about how long did it take to notice the length differnce?Does panteen beautiful lengths shampoo and conditioner work? ?
It doesn't make your hair grow faster, it just prevents split ends which stunt growth. I used both the conditioner and shampoo together and it really dried out my hair! I was away at school and super busy so I hadn't had time (or money) to cut my hair so it was pretty split anyways so it probably would work better at preventing them if you don't have them to begin with. I wouldn't recommend it, I've seen better results with Biolage shampoos, but it really depends on your hair type! I hope you like it!Does panteen beautiful lengths shampoo and conditioner work? ?
i think it just helps strengthen it maybe? i dunno i tried it until it was gone..i didn't see any difference :-/ sorry.
DO NOT USE PANTEEN!!!!!!!! it coats your hair with wax!!!! soooooo terrible for it!! Use herbal essences!!!! MUCH BETTER FOR UR HAIR!!!

Should I really use shampoo every night?

I don't know how much I should shampoo my hair, or condition it. I use both every night but my hair has become dry and gross and split ended and I hate it T_T please help.Should I really use shampoo every night?
Shampoo every other day or if you can every two/three days. Get a really good brand, like Panteen Pro-V moisture, shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo normally, then condition and leave in on for three or four minutes before you rinse it off. Brush your hair only when you have to (less brushing is better) and every week or so go through your hair looking for split ends and cut (just the split part) off with scissors.

What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use, I have dry brittle hair.?

also colored. What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use, I have dry brittle hair.?
my hair has been dry and unhealthy ever since i permed it. i finally gave in to frederic fekkai even though it's expensive. but i guess it really is worth what it costs, at least i can feel my hair is smoother and has more shine after only two weeks. it's called technician color care. my friend uses the hair butter and she said it works magic too, but you really have to be consistent and follow the instructions.

i heard redken works well too. What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use, I have dry brittle hair.?
Try Pert. I'm going back to it. when I had my hair longer, I tried Pantene. It only made it even drier %26amp; frizzier.
USE PANTENE PRO-V AND USE LEAVING IN AND DAILY CONDITONERS TO HELP KEEP YOUR HAIR MOISTURIZE TO NURSE YOUR HAIR BACK TO HEALTH AND TRY A DEEP CONTIONING CONDITIONER ONCE A WEEK
pantene proV with conditioner for colored hair...that's what I use
I use salon hair products because the ones in the store just don't do it for me.
dove moisurizing is great for both shampoo and conditioner. If you have highlights/blond hair, you can get Clarol shimmer and light shampoo and conditioner from a beauty supply store. This stuff is dark purple but it will make your hair look great!!! It keeps the brassiness out and gives your hair moisture and shine!!!
Pantene has paraffin wax in it, which becomes brittle and can break your hair over time. Products with animal proteins (like collagen or keratin) can also build up and become brittle. So make sure that your checking your ingredients.

My best suggestion would be to try Biolage Color Care shampoo and conditioner. Its gentle, and adds strength and moisture using VEGETABLE proteins (like wheat and soy). Make sure that when you wash, you only wash once, and only when you have to, using WARM not hot water. Rinse WELL!

Blot your hair dry, apply your styling products while you hair is still wet, and try to avoid using a lot of products with alcohol in them. When you're drying with a blow dryer, use the medium setting, and don't dry it until its completely dry, just until your style is set.

As a deep treatment once a week, I would also try Redken Heavy Cream. Its safe for color-treated hair, and it adds a LOT of moisture (and lots of shine!). Leave it on for 20 minutes, and wrap a warm towel around your hair, to help open the shaft and let the product penetrate.

Be sure to give your hair and skin a little vacation from make-up and products every once in a while, too. :D Good Luck!
I like Awapuhi Shampoo by Paul Mitchel %26amp; for really dry hair I like to use Conditioning Balm by Biolage.

Terax Miele Shamp. Or Terax Collagen Shamp. And then...believe it or not...Citre Shine Conditioner for Dry hair.
fructis for fine hair. for some reason this specific line of fructis works better than all the others. trust me...your hair can't be more dry than my curly fro and this stuff works great on me.
I agree with Lions post...Tresemme is the best by far for me. My hair is thick, slightly wavy and frizz prone. I use Tresemme Anti-Breakage shampoo along with the colour revitalize conditioner. Also before I blow dry or flat iron my hair I use their Instant Heat Tamer spray. Now my hair is soft, silky and shiny...and no frizz!

I wouldn't suggest using anything other than shampoo for animals, as you simply don't know what residue will be left on the fur for the rabbit to ingest as it grooms itself. If you do want to risk it, use the mildest of shampoos for babies. If this means going out to get some, you may as well go and buy rabbit shampoo, which is the best care for your rabbit anyway.
    Baby shampoo

    or

    Mild dog shampoo

I have a dander allergy and I want to buy a cat.

What can I use to get rid of the dander? Is there a shampoo in the first place? Is there a dander shampoo for cats?
Uhmmm..dander is present in a cat's saliva.. aka a shampoo won't ever be able to totally rid you of a cat allergy.

You should see an allergist about getting allergy shots. Is there a dander shampoo for cats?
a sure way to get rid of cat dander...

    see following instructions...

    repeat twice if necessary...

This was simply too much of a time saver not to share it with you.

    1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

    2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

    3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.

    4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

    5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash' and 'rinse.'

    6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

    7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.

    8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

    9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

    Sincerely,

    The Dog
im pretty sure that there are a few shampoos. i would think that you would have to wash them regularly though to keep the dandruff from getting too bad to affect you.

What is the best shampoo/conditioner/hair care for damaged hair and split ends???

I have really dry damaged hair and my split ends are getting more noticable, I am going to get my hair trimmed but what products can I use to help w/o a cut? What is the best shampoo/conditioner/hair care for damaged hair and split ends???
It's simple. 'S' factor.... it's simply the best!
I find that changing my shampoo and conditioner after each bottle runs out can make a difference, its almost as though my hair becomes immune to the shampoo/conditioner and no longer works on my hair, so I swap and change them around and it seems to make a difference. I alternate between, pantene, treseme and dove, all suitable for dry/damaged colour treated hair, I would also recommend the dove hair mask and intensive cream that you massage in and leave on for around 5mins.....and they are inexpensive too.

    Hope this helps x
That truly depends on your hair; each person's hair reacts differently to each product. For more affordable hair care, I would recommend Pantene Pro-V for damaged hair. I have also found, that surprisingly, Head %26amp; Shoulders works very well.

Again, however, you really need to try different brand- what works well for one, could be just mediocre for another.

    Good luck!
I used to work in a hair salon. Biologe shampoo and conditionor or Nexxus works really well. It also gives your hair a lil more umph and shine! They are about $17.00 per bottle. Walmart carries them or you can go to any hair salon and pick them up. If that is too expensive then I would recommend Pantene. Besides Nexxus - it's my favorite shampoo and conditionor

What is a good shampoo for fine/oily hair?

I have a lot of hair but the strands are very thin. Does anybody know if mane and tail shampoo is any good? What is a good shampoo for fine/oily hair?
I had tried that shampoo and it worked pretty bad on my hair. It started to itch and fell out a bit, i really dont recommend it. But since I have thin hair I had started to use this natural shampoo which works great and strengthened my hair a lot since i first started using it!

The smell is great and it is very affordable. I highly recommend it to you.. :)

the cost is waay worth it because it lasted me almost half a year :)What is a good shampoo for fine/oily hair?
You can use the shampoo without oil but make your hair soft, smooth and dry.Generally the hair stylist knows these knowledge. You can also read the information online.
Nair, you can get it almost everywhere. Scissors work just as well and are generally cheaper.
I think pantene proV is the answer for it, but I suggest going to a n expert...

What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair?

my hair gets frizzy and i would like to know if there are any shampoos that help with frizzy hair? what is a good kind?....thanks in advance. What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair?
use NOTHING from a grocery store, drug store, target, walmart ETC. all contain a form of alcohol.

try Natures Gate from Henry's marketplace, or Sprouts farmers market.

all the other ones do make your hair VERY VERY soft for the first week or 2. then they start to dry it out. they contain lanolins and synthetic rubbers that coat the hair and give it the feeling of strength and silkiness, but in fact are doing the opposite for your hair. you will feel the damage in about 3 weeks of using such a product.

use NATURES GATE. i swear by it.

    :)

Well by the looks of your avatar, I'm guessing you're a guy! Well Garnier Fructis in pretty much all of the different types strengthens and protects your hair. It helps me! My ends are not split and my hair is stronger and it doesn't break so easily. I think it also made it a little bit thicker, too! You should try it!

Herbal Essences ';hello hydration'; shampoo & conditioner: Does it work?

I've been using this for about a month %26amp; a half, and the first time I used it, my hair was incredibly soft so I've kind of been obsessed with it. Now it seems to be wearing off and honestly, I just want my hair to be soft, silky, and healthy so it can grow LONG. Have you guys used this? What are your thoughts?Herbal Essences ';hello hydration'; shampoo %26amp; conditioner: Does it work?
Many people say you should switch shampoos once a month. I've never done this, but I believe it works, and many of my friends have done it. So switch to a different shampoo (I love shampoo shopping), and after a month you can switch back to Hello Hydration. (Which smells great, by the way, don't you think?)Herbal Essences ';hello hydration'; shampoo %26amp; conditioner: Does it work?
    i use it.

i've been using the conditioner for awhile and just bought the shampoo the other day. i like it.

if you want it to be long, try garnier fructise length%26amp;strength
It's really funny that you just asked this question because I just answered another question telling them to try Herbal Essence! I will tell you that I have ONLY used it since it was just Fruit Fusions and now they have all the different kinds. I never use anything but this and everytime I go to a new stylist they always say ';omigo you hair is so healthy and beautiful what shampoo do you use?'; and then they are shocked when i tell them! Nothing smells as amazing either. One thing that I do do is I change up the kinds I use. I use Hello Hydration a lot and I also use the Color Treated kind and another I forgot actually, but I think I see even more results that way. You may want to switch it up a bit!
Same thing happened to me. Switch to herbal essences ';break's over';. It works a little better and also tames breakage, frizzies, and split ends. It has a pearl complex as well to soften and add shine!
I've used it, still do sometimes. I like how it makes my hair soft. But I now like the Herebel Essences drama clean one because I have thick hair and it makes my hair lighter.
iI used it and it did the same thing with me! it workd 4 a while then kinda died off, so i switched to TriSeme' moisture and it works very well! (sorry 'bout the spelling but i hope that helps!)
Some one told me about it I've been using it for about a month now.I also use Triple Moisture deep recovery hair mask by Neutrogena .It is a weekly treatment but I use it every day as a leave in conditioner.I have curly hair and highlights my hair was extremely dry.I have seen a big impovement with these products.I've herd It's not so much the type of shampoo that you need to be concered about ,It's the conditioner that matters. My hair is very soft and shiney now .
I used it for quite awhile but then it seemed to wear off so I switched plus my hairstylist said it was useless.

  • How often do you shower and how often do you shampoo?

    Shower/bath--every day or night

Shampoo/condition---every other dayHow often do you shower and how often do you shampoo?
I shower twice a day most days and shampoo every morning :)How often do you shower and how often do you shampoo?
As often as I need to.
Why do you want to know ...... perv.
i shower and shampoo everyday, but i heard shampooing your hair everyday is bad for it or something, so i dont really know what i should do. but im gonna stick to what ive been doing becuz it has worked for me for 4ever.
    I shower/bath every two days.

And I wash my hair, like, once a week.

Haha.. only because my hair is naturally curly and I straighten it, so...
    everyday
Everyday and beacause of my hair every two days.
    shower-everyday

    shampoo-every other day
    Shower = everyday.

Shampoo = once every week or week and a half.

How often you shampoo depends on your hair type. Hair that is naturally straight tends to be oily. That's because the oil that is secreted from the scalp has a relatively simple path to travel - down a straightened hair shaft. So at the end of the day, hair that is naturally straight tends to be oily.

Hair that is naturally curly/kinky (like mine), tends to be dry. That's because the oil from the scalp has a more difficult path to travel - down a curly-patterned hair shaft. Thus, the hair doesn't get oiled as quickly or easily as naturally straight hair does. The hair stays drier longer and needs to be moisturized as much as possible. Daily shampooing will dry this hair pattern out too much, so shampooing once a week or every two weeks is preferred.

Can i use dog shampoo on my guinea pig?

i only have my shampoo and dog shampoo. which should i use? or should i use any of them? Can i use dog shampoo on my guinea pig?
    Don't use either.

Guinea pigs have extremely sensitive skin and even the gentlest of baby shampoos is too rough on them. The dog shampoo would be even worse, since it may contain anti-flea medication which may kill your guinea pig.

    http://www.guinealynx.info/grooming.html鈥?/a>

The only thing you should use to bathe your guinea pig is just water or shampoo formulated just for small animals. Four Paws Bunny Bath works great on guinea pigs.

http://www.amazon.com/Four-Paws-Bunny-Sh鈥?/a>Can i use dog shampoo on my guinea pig?
Your piggie should not need to be bathed at all, unless he/she somehow got very dirty. They really do a good job of cleaning themselves!

However, if you find you MUST bathe your piggie, dog shampoo is a no-no. Dog, cat, puppy, kitten, and baby shampoo are too drying for their delicate skin. You'll need to purchase shampoo that is formulated for use with ';small animals';. It can be found at just about any pet supply store and costs no more than human shampoo.
ok when i bathed my guineapigs i just diluted some children's shampoo with water and my pigs are just fine. healthy and happy. no skin problems at all. i really don't think you should use the dog shampoo.
i think you should just use your normal shampoo because when i give my Rabbit a bath ( guinea pigs and rabbits are the same as i bet you know) i just use my normal shampoo or my sisters ( please dont tell)lol!
I suggest you go to the pet store and buy special shampoo for little critters like guinea pigs. using your own shampoo or dog shampoo and irritate your guinea pigs skin and cause it to be really uncomfortable.
you can clean it but check forthese thing make sur theres no chemicals of skin irritatin things and you need to make sure not to get any in the eye it caauses perminet eye damage
Um...what? That's pretty funny. Never heard of anyone bathing a guinea pig. I seriously doubt if it matters what shampoo you use. You probably could use dishwashing liquid.
    dont use any of them!

only use either special guinea pig shampoo kitten shampoo or baby shampoo.
    Use a baby shampoo

JOHNSONS BABY SHAMPOO NO MORE TEARS.

    It's good for guinea pigs.

I used it to bathe them.
dog shampoo isnt a good idea.

best thing for them is baby shampoo. very gentle.

What is a good shampoo to use for dry scalp or maybe psoriasis?

I have a very sore dry scalp from time to time which gets itchy and sore and scabby - lovely i know.

I have been prescribed both sel sun and polytar which stink and i swear i can still smell them after i have washed my hair, and didn't really do a great deal but was better than nothing.

Anyway my hair dresser suggested nizorelle and it really does work and doesnt stink either which is great.

Why didn't my doctor suggest nizorelle from the begining i do not know but believe me IT WORKSWhat is a good shampoo to use for dry scalp or maybe psoriasis?
Alphosil is supposed to be very good. Sorry not sure if I have spelt it right. What is a good shampoo to use for dry scalp or maybe psoriasis?
    Polytar or head and shoulders

if Polytar dont work go and see ur doctor they will be able to prescribe something stronge and i think you can get tablets now too
Nizarell. A bit pricey but works straight away.
    head and shoulders..
I have psoriasis and use either polytar from my doctor or one called Meted it works my partner gets dandruff so he keeps swagging it and it clears it up and keeps it away
I use Oilatum for my psoriasis beats Tgel!
i have my own business in aloe vera and bee products and i have many customers who buy our aloe vera shampoo which does the trick for them the shampoo's and conditioners first ingredient is aloe vera, it is not like the one you buy in the shops where they add one drop and then say contains aloe vera?
Aveda makes one just for the scalp
T-gel is ok. I would have your pharmacist order Ala-Seb. The prescribed stuff is better but the co-pay is ridiculous. I wouldn't even spend that much for designer shampoo.
i was prescribed t-gel many years ago, i stopped and use vosene and wash my hair less often than i used to , much better now.
T-Gel is good. You can find it at CVS Pharmacy or Walgreen's, and probably Walmart. My daughter has used it, and it works.
    t-gel
Listen to me!!!! T-gel is good but there is another called Alphosyl Two in One. Even though I am a man....Believe me this works........gino
When my baby got cradle cap (same thing)....I used baby oil and a toothbrush to remove the flakes and then I used T-Gel, I never had to treat her again
Poly tar and T-gel are both very good- my brother has a very dry scalp and these work a treat for him, but head and shoulders is next to useless.
I use Nizoral once a week, the rest of the week I use Head and Shoulders for sensitive scalps. I have psoriasis and since I started using both of these I no longer have the problem in my hair.
Try a Tea Tree shampoo. Tea Tree is used to heal almost everything and it is natural. Paul Mitchell has a good one, or health food stores have some too.
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and I can recommend ALOE VERA, it is best that you get it from a health store, There are many herbal remedies for this kind of problem, don't buy remedies from a chemist or your GP, chemical based preparations only make thing worse

    gloriashealth@btinternet.com
T-Gel. Worked wonders for my mothers Psoriasis.
    coaltar, ketaconazole, salicylic acid preparations.
    head and shoulders
If you are in the UK, try Capasal (company is Dermal) which you should be able to buy by asking the pharmacist.

Nizoral for dandruffy dry scalp, but not sure if this is suitable for psoriasis.

Can you use human shampoo for a pony?

I would like to wash a mares mane and tail, can i use human shampoo and canditioner to do it? it would save money if i could.

If i can which is the best to use for the best results? Can you use human shampoo for a pony?
Yes, I have used all types of shampoos and conditioners on my horses and ponies. I've had great luck with some of the the 'shine' products although they aren't inexpensive. One of my trainers swears on Ivory dish soap as it works great on oil, especially on dirty horses :-).

The dollar store ';Head n Shoulders'; brands work great as it helps with dry skin and possibly fungus. Can you use human shampoo for a pony?
I would ask your vet about the different types of human shampoo to use. I have used baby shampoo on my horses many times without a problem as they are normally hyper- allogenic, tear free and very gentle. If you look at the prices of human shampoo in comparison to equine specific shampoos you will find that equine shampoos/conditioners (ie, main and tail) are much more cost effective. Usually you find that the equine shampoos come in much larger quantities for the same price as human shampoos. I would definately ask your vet before using any human shampoos on your mare just in case she has an allergic reaction... etc.. Hope this helps :)
The cheap shampoos are fine to use but cheap conditioners don't even work in human hair. I use suave, i can pick it up at our local swap meet for dirt cheap and by the box. I use it on the dogs here also and they smell good.

Also a little FYI you can pass along...if you know someone who has had a fire in their home and you know how the smoke smell gets into clothes...I found out while i was a firefighter if i added a little bit of suave strawberry shampoo to the wash the smell came out. I used this on my turnout gear (the stuff we wore while fighting the fire) I was the prettiest smelling firefighter and i didn't smell like a BBQ.
Certainly. Remember you don't want to use too much soap. So just put a little on and use a lot of water. Otherwise its too hard to get the soap out and its important that you do. Still I swear by VET Oatmeal shampoo It costs about $14 dollars but it lasts forever and its soap free and gets rid of any itches. Its really good for their skin and makes them so shiny and smooth and you don't have to worry about leaving a soapy film. You use just a little bit and lots of water.
Yea any human shampoo is okay for horses. I use Pantene on my horse's mane and tail and Ivory on his body. The Pantene works really well and keeps my horse's mane and tail clean and soft. I love the Ivory because it's really cheap and makes his body really soft.
i have used my shampoo on my horses several times. i like to buy that white rain shampoo cause its cheap. the only thing you have to make sure is to use conditioner because the human shampoo tends to remove the oils from the horses hair and can cause their skin to be too dry!
i have used shampoo on horses many times before, and that was human shampoo. Just make sure you buy baby or sensitive skin shampoo, and remember don麓t get it in the horses eyes, nose ears or mouth.
yes you can but half the ammount you would normally use.

Say if you used a handfull of horse shampoo/conditioner only use half a hand full, get me. lol
Defiantly, I use my shampoo on my horse and my dog, just make sure it's for sensitive skin...to be on the safe side.
Yes you can, try and get them without silicone in them though. I like Lush stuff, smells good too.
I've always used it on my horses to no ill effect! I buy baby shampoo, or stuff for sensetive skin, just to be on the safe side.
i use head and shoulders cool menthol on my dandruffy horse, he loves it and he smells so good.

Is it safe to shampoo my cat 1-2 times per week?

My 4 month old kitten is very cooperative for shampooing, and I find it necessary to do because a fresh shampoo leaves me without allergy symptoms for about 4 days. But I'm concerned that shampooing him too often may inadvertantly hurt him in some way. Anyone know if twice a week is too often? Is it safe to shampoo my cat 1-2 times per week?
I would call a vet and see if there is some kind of shampoo that you can use to help your allergies but that you won't have to use so often. I think giving your Kitten a bath that often is a bad idea..it could cause his or her skin to get too dry.. but i would give the Vet a call.Is it safe to shampoo my cat 1-2 times per week?
No it is not a cat has the ability to groom itself. MInd you a bath maybe once a moth won't hurt but 1-2 a week will hurt your cats skin.
id only bathe it once evry two weeks otherwise his scalp will dry out and hell be itching all the time like he has fleas
I would be sure to use a creme rinse if you're doing it that often...instead of peach or strawberry scent though...find a nice tuna or roast beef scent. Kitty will LOVE you!
I would call the vet to make sure that that was ok. Shampooing them that much might was away some things that will keep them from bacteria! maybe there's a shampoo that will make it safe to do!
Bathing a cat that often will rob him of the natural oils in his skin and may cause it to become too dry and unhealthy. I would talk to your personal physician about other ways to control your allergy symptoms.
You should not be bathing it at all, unless it got totally messy in something.
becareful about shampooing so often ;as cats have certain oils on their skin and hair .washing so much will dry it out. ask your vet what are good shampoo's that will keep kitty ;s coat nice and leave her natural oils in ,,,, good-day
It will be ok, but I would by a soap-less shampoo for every other time you bathe her. Bathing to much can cause cat mange. I have a Himalayan and I have to bathe her often to and I use a soap-less shampoo every other bath. Good luck, I hope this works for you.
yea it would probably be OK.
Bathing is not very healthy for cats. Even weekly bathing is likely to dry out the skin (which eventually could create more flaking and dander, exaccerbating your allergies). Have you tried allergy medication? It might be easier (and healthier) to medicate yourself rather than your kitty. If those don't work for you, perhaps try talking to a holistic vet or a ';natural'; type petstore. If you have to give frequent baths, using an all-natural shampoo is a must.
DON';T use soap..Just rinse him in warm water and towel him off.Soap will dry him out
Cats clean themselves...if you are allergic take medication! Leave the poor kitty alone.
Cat's usually bathe themselves, but if it makes you feel better with allergies... it's not bad to bathe a cat. I would only recommend that you make sure the cat is dry and warm after the bath before you let it lose again. Cats can get colds from being too chilly. The more you wash your cat, the more risk you put him in for getting sick.
it will dry his skin out if you wash him too much.
a friend of mine is allergic to cats...this is what her allergist told her (i hope it helps you and your kitten to be more comfortable)....

the allergist told her that when she got a new kitten to rinse it with distilled water once or twice a week (not shampoo necessary) to help with allergy symptoms but that eventually her body would build a sort of immunity to the cat and she would no longer be allergic to it...of course she will be allergic to any other cats, but not to that particular cat....anyways, my friend has gone thru the process with all of her cats (has 3 i think) and hasn't had any problems...

    good luck
Make sure you rinse out the shampoo properly, or they'll get an upset stomach. It'll probably be fine (Show cats are often bathed once every fortnight), but it might be worth looking at using Petal Cleanse and wiping your cats coat with it once a week or so instead.
Weekly bathing is fine, I'm not sure about bathing twice a week though. Make sure you use cat shampoo, preferably a very mild one, or one that is formulated not to dry out the skin. I use kitten shampoo even though my cat is 7 months old, and that works for me. Dilute the shampoo by mixing it into the bath water, rather than putting it directly on the cat. And make sure you rinse him very throroughly. Once a week bathings with a mild cat shampoo shouldn't dry out his skin as long as you get all of the shampoo residue off of him. I use the sprayer on the kitchen sink to rinse my cat and that works well. If you need to do something for your allergies more than once a week, I would suggest using Allerpet-C. It is rubbed onto the cats fur when he is dry and it neutralizes the allergens. I have cat allergies and my system is to bathe my cat once a week, and use Allerpet-C once a week (3 or 4 days after the bath), and it works well for me. You can get Allerpet-C from your vet, or you can order it online from various retailers. I got mine through Amazon.com from KV Vet Supply.

  • What's your favourite shampoo and conditioner?

I keep changing between brands but always come back to Pantene. What's your favourite shampoo and conditioner?
You should not use pantene it is wax based and builds up on the hair over time so when i go to color peoples hair who use it It effects how the hair color takes. I recommend not using a wax based product. The wax in the conditioner makes your hair feel great I'll give you that- but it does build up over time. What's your favourite shampoo and conditioner?
baby shampoo is good 2 use
    Coconut flavour is my fave...
    fudge
Pantene rocks, makes hair shiny and healthy, smells lovely. Don't bother with all this designer haircare, over priced and no way near as good as Pantene. My hair is always healthy, and I would like to take this opportunity to salute the makers of Pantene, lol.
I use tressame, be careful with Pantene. They have a lot of plastics in them that build up on your hair.
fructis - can't remember who makes it but it comes in a green bottle. keeps my hair nice and shiny and also smells lovely.
Aussie Drench shampoo and conditioner it makes my hair lovely and soft
DOVE! It does not remove any colour youmay have on your hair and does not coat it dragging it down.
My favourite shmapoo and conditioner are John Frieda Frizz Ease Straight Ahead Shampoo and conditioner. They leave my hair smooth and shiny!

I also like Loreal Elvive Anti-Breakage Shampoo with Nutri-Ceramide and Loreal Elvive Anti-Breakage Conditioner. They're quite cheap and leave my hair soft.

    I hope this helps!
Pantenne strips the hair of its natural oils and color too.

I would use goldwell jahoba for coloured hair and the conditioner too, also john freda for damaged hair
yes pantene is good....n i also use suave is also good y do u ask?
herbal essences i have always loved there shampoo and conditioner
I don't use shampoo and conditioner. Just a bar of soap.
my fave is aussi shampoo n conditioner, it makes your hair, really soft and shiny, yet soo clean, ive used lots of different brands but i reckon aussi has to be the best
I've heard Pantene is notorious for drying out hair. Instead, I use Paul Mitchell products from which I have no complaints.
It is best to change brands every so often for awhile. When you use the same one all the time it seems to get a build up and your hair looks limp even after you have washed it. I use Suave clarifying shampoo when my hair looks like it's getting a build up. I use Breck, Suave and V0 5 (I love the scents). I hate conditioner so when my hair gets too fly away, I use Garnia Fruitese.

Oh, and I love Outrageous but I don't think they make it anymore.
    1. Motions

    2. Pantene

    3. Aveda
Sun Silk, the yellow one for volume
silky sexy hair shampoo and conditioner
Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo with camomile, makes the hair lighter and baby soft, I don't use conditioner at all much to my hairdressers amazement as my hair looks very good, I tried Pantene but it made my hair look greasy very quickly but it depends on peoples hair types, if Pantene works for you keep using it, on occasion I chop and change from one shampoo to another for a bit of variety as sometimes you can get fed up with the same scent, but I don't think there is a BEST shampoo only prehaps one you find the most effective for your own hair type!
the best ones are made by wella and tigi they have great moisturising properties. ghd have also made a great new range called guardian which have excellent proven colour saving results...
    Creme of Nature

    Mane 'N Tail

Both proucts makes my hair soft, gives it shine, body and smells great afterwards.
About 3 years ago I tried Brilliant Brunette by John Frieda. Since then I refuse to buy any other hair products. It's by far the best, and in the past 3 years I can only recall 2 occasions when I used something else because 1. my luggage was lost by the airline I flew with and they didn't deliver my luggage until 2 days later, and 2. I was at a friend's house and my hair got messy but I didn't have my shampoo %26amp; conditioner so I had to borrow hers. Even if I went to the hairdresser's I would insist on my hair products to be used.

Can't go wrong with Nexxus. Probably Cleanse and mend for you, or aloe rid. What is the best shampoo for me?
well.. i've used a lot of shampoos and i always end up switching to a different shampoo. but then i found Suave Volume(purple bottle) and i absolutely love it! it turned my oily, flat, and builded up hair into soft, shiny, silky, and volumous! i love it so much. i practically love all the Suave products because they do what they say and they smell really good too! and for less than 6 bucks for both shampoo and conditioner, it works just as good as the other salon products out there.
im not sure about burts bees but bumble %26amp; bumble have a lot of good shampoos that moisturize and detangle, i think cuz ur hair is oily, u should wash it maybe everyday or put a bit of baby powder on ur scalp to hide it. but the one that i use is from bumble %26amp; bumble and its called creme de coco and it is phenomenal! and it smells awesome :)
Pureology. The moisturizing one. Its natural with nothing in it to further ruin your hair.
    Nexxus.
